Family Support
Consultation & IEP Guidance in Covina, CA (Virtual Available)
Sometimes you don’t need another full evaluation- you need someone to help you make sense of what you already have, understand your child’s needs, and feel confident walking into the next school meeting.
Family Support services are designed to help parents feel clear, prepared, and supported when navigating concerns like learning struggles, behavior at school, accommodations, or IEP planning.
What Family Support Can Help With
Families often reach out when they need support with:
Understanding school or private assessment reports
Deciding whether to request a 504 Plan or IEP
Preparing for an upcoming IEP meeting
Reviewing goals, services, and accommodations
Clarifying what supports are realistic and appropriate
Troubleshooting school concerns (behavior, attention, anxiety, burnout)
Creating a plan when school communication feels overwhelming
Parent Consultations
Supportive, practical sessions to help you:
clarify concerns and priorities
understand what your child needs most
create a plan for next steps at home and school
You’ll leave feeling:
✔ more confident
✔ more informed
✔ more prepared
✔ less alone in the process
Most importantly, you’ll leave with clear next steps for how to support yourself and your child.
Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs)
If you disagree with a school district evaluation or feel your child’s needs were not fully captured, I offer Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) to provide a thorough, objective assessment and clear recommendations.
IEEs may be appropriate when:
Results don’t match what you see at home or school
Important concerns were missed or not assessed
Eligibility was denied but struggles continue
You want clearer guidance for services, goals, and supports
IEP Support & Guidance
Guidance to help you feel prepared and informed before, during, and after IEP meetings, including:
reviewing IEP documents and proposed changes
identifying strengths-based goals and supports
clarifying what to ask for and how to phrase concerns
planning follow-up steps after the meeting
Note: IEP support is focused on education planning and collaboration. Families are always encouraged to consult with an attorney if they need legal representation.
